Beloved Author Lauraine Snelling Returns Again to Her Popular Red River Valley Setting Trygve Knutson is devoted to his family and his community. With his job on the construction crew, he is helping to build a future for the North Dakota town of Blessing. Though he loves his home, he sometimes dreams of other horizons--especially since meeting Miriam Hastings.
Miriam is in Blessing to get practical training to become an accredited nurse. She's been promised a position in the Chicago women's hospital that will enable her to support her siblings and her ailing mother. Although eager to return to her family, Miriam is surprised to find how much she enjoys the small town of Blessing. And her growing attachment to Trygve soon has her questioning a future she always considered set in stone.
When a family emergency calls Miriam home sooner than planned, will she find a way to return? If not, will it mean losing Trygve--and her chance at love--for good?
MY TAKE: If you are a fan of Lauraine Snellings Red River Valley series this book is for you! I don't think this is Lauraines Best book. But it's still a really good book if you know the backstorys. I think Lauraine could've done a little better at making the book more about the supposed main characters. But if you look at it as Lauraine catching readers up on the Bjorklund family while introducing Tygrve (pronounced Trig-vee) and Miriam for the coming series it makes sense. When I read a new book in the series I usually have to skim through the past books to refresh my memory. (Although the family tree at the very first of this book was very helpful)! Last Lauraine wrote a new book about the Bjorklund family was in 2011 and she has four series based on the Bjorklunds! That's a lot of characters to keep up with! All in all I would recommend this book to fans of the Red River Valley series's because it could be majorly confusing for people who have not read previous series in this setting.but if you haven't read any of Lauraines previous books I definitely recommend you start with the Red River Valley series! The first historical romance book I ever read was Red River Of The North #1 An Untamed Land and now Historical Fiction is one of my favorite genres.

I'm making room on my shelf for all of Patricia Bradley's novels!"-- Susan May Warren, bestselling and award-winning author of When I Fall in Love
My take:
A Promise To Protect By Patticia Bradley is the second book in the Logan Point series. I read it without reading the first book and I didn't feel confused or left out. This book certainly won't be on my list of favorites but I think it was a good book anyway. It was slow starting out, and it never really got any better reading on, it just never fully grab my attention, I thought the plot was slightly confusing and disappointing. But the characters were interesting and most of them were likable. I think most fans of the Christian romantic suspense Genre would like this book. I just wasn't in the mood for this one for some reason.
Favorite quote:
"You can second-guess yourself for the rest of your life, and it won't change anything. I don't think there's anything God needs to forgive you for, but if there is, he did a long time ago. Now it's simply a matter of you receiving his grace''.

Impatient to meet her intended groom and help him grow his general store, mail-order bride Eliza Cantrell sets out on her travels a week early. But her plan goes sadly awry when her train is held up by robbers who steal her dowry and Axel, her groom-to-be, isn't even in town when she finally arrives.
Axel's business partner, William Stanton, has no head for business and would much rather be a doctor. When his friend's mail-order bride arrives in town with no money and no groom in sight, he feels responsible and lets her help around the store--where she quickly proves she's much more adept at business than he ever will be.
The sparks that fly between Will and Eliza as they work together in close quarters are hard to ignore, but Eliza is meant for Axel and a future with the store, while Will is biding his time until he can afford medical school. However, their troubles are far from over when Axel finally returns, and soon both Will and Eliza must decide what they're willing to sacrifice to chase their dreams--or if God has a new dream in store for them both.
My Take:
A Bride In Store is the first novel I have read by author Melissa Jeagers. Mabie it's because I didn't read the first book in this series, I don't know but this one looked so much better than it actually was. The story seemed long and overly complicated. Some parts were boring and I got slightly mad at Eliza and Will for not admitting their feelings for each other and for obsessing over their problems so much. All in all I liked this book, but I didn't love it. It held my interest for the most part and had a surprising twist, but it's not one that will stand out in my memory.

AN INVITATION TO BREATHE Catastrophe or no catastrophe, if you are unhinged, disoriented, suffocating, or otherwise generally dragging, I'm inviting you to pull up a chair at this table . . .
Breathing Room is a beautiful release of self-condemnation, a discovery of the rest that comes when we offer ourselves some space to breathe. Vulnerable and winsome, Leeana Tankersley shows you how to stop beating yourself up, how to be radically on your own team, and how to truly experience grace. If you've been putting on a strong front and yet are secretly coming apart, you'll find in these pages a trusted friend.
"Leeana says out loud the things we all feel, and she says it with grace and eloquence. Reading these pages is like sitting with a friend."-- Shauna Niequist, author of Bread & Wine
"Leeana refuses to reach for easy answers, instead leading the reader on a journey of accepting our own humanity. Quite simply, this is one of the most thoughtful books I've read all year."-- Emily P. Freeman, author of A Million Little Ways
Amazon Discription Leeana Tankersley, like so many of us, began to feel overwhelmed by
life. And like so many of us, she assumed she was struggling not because
life is inherently difficult but because she was personally failing in
some way. She knows firsthand what it is to bully yourself, to put
yourself down for not being able to keep it all together, to compare
yourself to others and find yourself lacking. But she's also discovered
that all of the hurt and hostility and pain only add up to a life of
holding your breath. What if we could exhale and let go? Breathing Room is
her beautiful release of self-condemnation, her discovery of the rest
that comes when we give ourselves some space to breathe. She draws
readers in through shared experiences of perfectionism, jealousy, and
striving and shows them how to let go, how to be radically on their own
team, and how to experience the broad grace that Christ has offered all
of us.
Anyone who has been trying to do it all, who has been putting on a strong front and yet secretly struggling, will find in Breathing Room both a trusted friend and a generous Savior.
My Take:
Im taking part in Revell Publishers blog tour for upcoming titles and this book caught my eye, probably because I was feeling down in the dumps at the time. But I was slightly disappointed. It didn't really live up to the back cover or what people were saying about it. God seems to take a secondary role, Tankersley does mention bible story's but does not quote actual scripture. Most of the time I felt I couldn't relate. I did like some parts though, such as her personal experiences I even had to laught at some of them. I really liked the chapter about prayer. I would recommend this book mainly to young or middle aged mothers.

"You only love when its easy" In the shadow of the nation's capital, Kate Livingston's respectable life as a government worker is disrupted by an encounter with the insufferable Trevor McDonough, the one man she'd hoped never to see again. A Harvard-trained physician, Trevor never showed the tiniest flicker of interest in Kate, and business is the only reason he has sought her out now.
Despite her misgivings, Kate agrees to Trevor's risky proposal to join him in his work to find a cure for tuberculosis. As Kate begins to unlock the mysteries of Trevor's past, his hidden depths fascinate her. However, a shadowy enemy lies in wait and Trevor's closely guarded secrets are darker than she ever suspected.
As revelations from the past threaten to destroy their careers, their dreams, and even their lives, Trevor and Kate find themselves in a painfully impossible situation. With everything to lose, they must find the strength to trust that hope and love can prevail over all.
My Take:
Elizabeth Camden and has a way of making you feel as if you traveled back in time and are right there with the characters. Laughing with them, crying with them Etc. The way she writes the characters relationships is so entertaining especially the banter between Kate and Trevor. This is the second of Elizabeth Camdens books that I have read and I can't wait to read more. If you are looking for a great historical fiction book look no farther than Elizabeth Camdens With Every Breath. The plot will definitely grab your interest. Elizabeth Camden once again makes her female character a strong, smart woman. The element of faith shines in this book, and Camden reaches out with the message that "Your life is going to unfold exactly as God intends".
Favorite Quotes:
"God never asked her to understand Him. He asked her to Trust Him."
"Tomorrow might be riddled with fear and heartache, but right now in this perfect, God-given moment, he knew joy and was grateful for it."

My Take I have been wanting to read a book by Lynette Eason for a long time, so when I had the opportinuty to review one for Revell Reads i grabbed it. This book is ok, its the second in the Hidden Idenity series but that didnt make it confusing. It grabbed my attention from the first page and held it most of the way through the book, but towards the end I started thinking if they actually put more effort into the investigation side of things they might have saved theirselves some trouble, but then again I guess they were hired to protect not to investigate. So its not on my favorites list but it was a good book anyway. I look forward to reading more of Lynette Easons work in the future!
