Silenced By Dani Pettrey

                                       Silenced by Dani Pettrey

"God  dosen't promise the way will be easy, far from it, but he promises to carry us through, to give us the courage and grace we need when we need it. He most often dosen't change the circumstances; he changes us. Jake Westin

A RELAXING DAY ROCK CLIMBING TAKES A DISTURBING TURN when Kayden McKenna'a route brings her face-to-face with a dead climber. Is it a terrible accident or something darker? When the case is handed to overburdened sheriff Landon Granger, he turns to Jake Westin for help. With Jake's past now reveled, he's ready to use his talent for investigation again - but he could never prepare for where the mystery will take him.
Kayden's climbing expertise soon leads her and Jake to the realization that the death was no accident. And worse, it seems the killer is onto them. When strange things begin happening in Yancy, Jake is terrified that once again his world may put someone he loves in danger. But the truth is far worse than he could ever imagine.
I love this series! It is fresh, fun, has a strong family bond, realistic characters and is action and adventure packed! Even thought i really enjoy the other McKenna siblings, Kayden is my favorite character and the character with whom I most identify.
What I liked:
_ The story starts off well and sucks you in from the beginning.
_ I really liked the theme of the book, Rock climbing (free climbing) I rever realized some people did it without ropes.
_ I like how the author set the intro for book five which will be focused on Reef and Kirra
_I really like how the meet the characters fun page the author has on her blog, Which has the characters Personal Dossier's, Story soundtrack, The pinterest world for Silenced and more  http://www.danipettrey.com/fun/ it really helps to get the feel of the location (Alaska) and the characters worlds.
_ I also liked the updated on the other McKenna siblings, Especially the two weddings.
 What I didn't like:
_I never understood why jake's wife was killed or why Angela was so bent on getting back at Jake. I mean wasen't killing his wife and child more than enough revenge?
_ Also in the first half of the book it seemed like the criminal investigation should have tied-in with the second half somehow, but it never really did.
But all-in-all this was a really good book. Silenced is the forth in the Alaskan Courage series by Dani Pettrey This is Jake and Kayden's story. You could read the books in any order, but to fully understand the characters I would read them in order! This series is an absolute must read!!! Especially if you are a fan of Christian Romantic Suspence.

* I receved this book for free from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

All right readers, here’s a question (it’s a tough one): if you have read any of the ALASKAN COURAGE series books, which one was your favorite? If you haven’t, which cover intrigues you the most?

Speaking of Jake and Kayden's world how about a 90-degree free-climb up a rock face to give you a taste of the adventure in Silenced?

UNSTOPPABLE By Nick Vujicic

UNSTOPPABLE : THE INCREDIBLE POWER OF FAITH IN ACTION

Being unstoppable is about believing and achieving It's about having faith in yourself, your talents, your purpose and most of all, In God's great love and His divine plan for your life. Millions around the world recognize the smiling face of Nick Vujicic. Born without arms or legs, Nick has not allowed his physical challenges to keep him from enjoying great adventures, a fulfilling and meaningful career, and loving relationships. Nick has overcome trials and hardships by focusing on the promises that he was made for a unique and specific purpose, that his life has value and is a gift to others, and that even though he may endure hardships, God is always present and in control. Nick credits his success to the power that is unleashed when we put our faith into action.
This is the first of Nick Vujicic's books I have ever read and I'm really glad I read it, it was very encouraging and inspiring. I liked the stories he told about his travels, and the stories about other people, and especially the story about how he met his wife :) My favorite quote from this book is: You have a choice. You can believe or not believe. But if you believe - whatever you believe - you must act upon it. Otherwise, Why believe? In UNSTOPPABLE Nick offers guidance and inspiration for dealing with: • personal crisis • relationship issues • career and job challenges • Health and disability concerns • bullying, persecution, cruelty and intolerance • feeling out of control • etc. in sharing compelling stories of his own experiences and those of many others, Nick explains how anyone can create a "ridiculously good life" and become unstoppable. What's standing in your way? Are you ready to become unstoppable?

Critical Reaction

                                       CRITICAL  REACTION
                                                 BY : TODD M. JOHNSON

WHEN A WARNING SIREN (FINALLY) SCREAMS IN THE DESERT NIGHT, THE WORST HAS HAPPENED.
Atfer turning out plutonium for the cold war, the shuttered Hanford Nuclear Facility's poisoned buildings may be a bigger risk than ever. the men who guard the facility from sabatage or monitor its buildings are told the dangers are under control. But are they really? Then the worst happens - a thunderous explosion in the dead of night. Kieran Mullaney survived the blast, but when threats and silence meet his attemps to discover what really happened, he reconnects with an old friend - inexperienced lawyer Emily Hart. Convinced Hanford is hiding something, they also realize the case is sunk without more help. Emily's estranged father, Ryan, has the courtroom experience they need, but he's grown jaded and weary of the profession. Still, it's a chance to rebuild ties to Emily, and the deeper he digs, the stranger - and more dangerous - the case gets.

This is the first of Todd M. Johnson's books I've ever read and also the first legal thriller I've read but I didn't really like it. Most of the book was boring, I think it was because I never really connected with the characters. It was told more from the perspective of Emily's father than Kieran or Emily and I couldn't identify with him very much. I wish they would've been more suspense, and more development to the romance. There wasn't much to the spiritual aspect either, other than the mention of praying. One thing I did like in the book was a quote from Emily's mother, she said "never sue a teacher, or a farmer. and only take on the fights truly worth fighting," maybe someone who likes lawyer stuff etc would enjoy this book. But I just couldn't seem to get into it.

Unspoken by Dee Henderson

                                                       UNSPOKEN

Bryce Bishop is a coin dealer, but he is bored out of his mind. or he was, until Charlotte Graham showed up. Charlotte Graham has coins to sell, A-lot-of-coins. Like vaults full of coins. Really old coins. She appears one night under mysterious circumstances and intrigues Bryce. She's offering him the opportunity to buy her collection of coins. If he says no, she's going to open up a coin store right next door and be his direct competition. As the mysterious circumstances past and present surrounding Charlotte begin to unravel, Bryce wants to help her with distributing her grandfathers estate. Bryce comes to realize that the estate is much more than he imagined. Charlotte has a disturbed past and hasn't said a word to anyone about the four years she spent kidnapped. Even though it has been 18 years, her past is still chasing her.
I have been a fan of Dee Henderson's writing ever since I read the O'Malley series. This certainly wasn't the best book she has ever written. I think their should have been more from charlottes point of view and a little less from Bryce's. I was kind of expecting Charlotte to get kidnapped again at the end of the book when they were trying to catch her previous kidnapper but it never happened. But I still thought it was a really good book. And I will recommend it to all my friends.

* How to get the most out of your dreams
* Historical and present-day examples of life-changing dreams
* 3 steps to discover the geunine message from your dream, And more.
I chose this book to review because I thought it looked really interesting and beacuse I thought it might tell me what my dreams meant. It was really interesting, and I liked the historical storys such as dreams about the sinking of the Titanic and how the sewing machine was invented but it didn't really apply to the type of dreams I have. From what the author said about dreams, mine don't seem to be saying much! Anyway this book didn't tell me anything much about my dreams but that dosent mean it wouldn't for someone else.
