If you are a fan of Lauraine Snellings Red River Valley series this book is for you! I don't think this is Lauraines Best book. But it's still a really good book if you know the backstorys. I think Lauraine could've done a little better at making the book more about the supposed main characters. But if you look at it as Lauraine catching readers up on the Bjorklund family while introducing Tygrve (pronounced Trig-vee) and Miriam for the coming series it makes sense. When I read a new book in the series I usually have to skim through the past books to refresh my memory. (Although the family tree at the very first of this book was very helpful)! Last Lauraine wrote a new book about the Bjorklund family was in 2011 and she has four series based on the Bjorklunds! That's a lot of characters to keep up with! All in all I would recommend this book to fans of the Red River Valley series's because it could be majorly confusing for people who have not read previous series in this setting.but if you haven't read any of Lauraines previous books I definitely recommend you start with the Red River Valley series! The first historical romance book I ever read was Red River Of The North #1 An Untamed Land and now Historical Fiction is one of my favorite genres.
