My take:
I don't know why, but arranged marriages have always kind of fascinated me, I think it's because its not what were used to, it's interesting to think it actually happened in the old days. Sadly not all of them turned out good, but it's enjoyable to read about the times when they did. This is the first of Jody Hedlunds books that I have read and I can't wait to read more, especially the yet to come books in the new Beacons Of Hope series. There was a lot of suspense and mystery in this book, I was definitely intrigued even though I figured out what Patrick was hiding before it came out. I like the authors note at the end, in which Jody said which parts of the book are based on historical events, and which were not. All in all this was a good book, it was easy to get into and it flowed nicely I liked the characters in this story it will definitely keep your interest.
